I suck!
At updating, that is! So much has gone on, and the days have passed more and more quickly, it's all a blur now! So tired that I won't even bother to update right now.... But some great stuff has happened... and this is extremely uninformative! Nearly just a month now until my senior year starts again, and about 23 days until I leave NYC for good :(. Going to try and make the most of it! And sleep too; night!

Wow is it really the next weekend already? Summer is getting faster and faster! :( But with the passing days, there's always more fun to be had :).
I'm probably too tired to write this... I just woke up after only ~2 hours of sleep to sit in line for student rush tickets for... Promises, Promises! Very excited to see Sean Hayes and Kristen Chenoweth, two actors I actually know fairly well for once. This week has been filled with show after show, and I am loving it! And surprisingly, my bank account has been holding up to the pressure, too... Having steady income is great!
Incidentally, work is getting so enjoyable now that I have been hard pressed to leave at the end of the day! It's always this way with me... I am either uninterested/bored with a topic and perform half-assedly and in no hurry, lethargically even, or I start to get into the task at hand and get a little obsessed with it, doing probably a little more work or putting a little too much effort into it than is necessary... Well I'm at the latter stage for right now. I can tell there's a sweet spot in between those two modes, but I always transition so quickly from one to the other, I can never stay there long at the apex of my overall efficiency. Alas.. at least I'm enjoying it more now; much better than before. But for example, yesterday, having come in late, I had to stay late as well, but I just kept on going and would have worked all night had it not been for the fact that 1) I had plans and 2) everyone else had left since it was Friday and I needed to collaborate with others to continue! Hah.
I can't much remember what I did Wednesday, but Thursday evening, Bloomberg sponsored a intern networking event where I met some more people. They had free beer (I think I actually like Sapporo!) and hors d'oeuvres and gave out free sustainably-made intern t-shirts (love Bloomberg's green efforts) and played music as if to make it into something like a dance rave... Including this freaky on-acid YouTube video that I have yet to track down... Pictures soon. (I always promise, but never follow through v_v)
That evening I decided on a whim to see The Fantasticks off-Broadway, since I've heard of the show so much but didn't know a thing about it. Much more of an old-style theatre play, considering it is 50 years old, and has been running since its opening - longest running show in the world. The off-Broadway venue and audience was small, and laughter was sparse when it was wanted... seemed much less like a NYC play than the others I've seen. But I still enjoyed it.
The plans I mentioned above for Friday night were in fact that Mike is here for the weekend! He's currently asleep after last night... Going to let him for a while. He arrived last night, we ate at Così and went to the show we were going to see... Naked Boys Singing. XD It was good! Short, one act, but funny, and definitely entertaining! They were of course very strict with rules with such "Gratuitous Nudity" abound. It was interesting to look around and see the audience that came to see the show: a cohort of older fawning Asian ladies with matching fans, a disgruntled boyfriend dragged there by his girl, and even apparently old businessmen types? :) The soundtrack, though, I have to say, was very good for such a show! They didn't sell it there but I'll definitely be obtaining it somehow. Funny stuff.
After seeing that we went to Kevin's apartment (co-intern from Bloomberg) to see other Bloombergers (Bloom Burgers?) and the like. And then we returned home to see Kristen and Maria, with whom we will be seeing the show tonight, before collapsing and getting ready for... today! We'll probably hit a few museums and then see the show... and maybe we'll go to Rush (again). Until then! (nap)

Rob in Baltimore! Not as unusual
Bah! Bulletpoint update! Sleep!
- Went to Baltimore for the weekend!
- Ate dumplings yum and then went to Brewer's Art with Matt, Tony and Lara Friday night. Apparently Wolfgang came down from NYC too and was there at the same time and I didn't even know. Hah
- Ran into literally 20 friends in 20 different locations
- Serenaded a Suz and companie; drew gnome beards on walls.
- Saturday, recorded a (potentially temporary) final track for the Vocal Chords' new CD, Suspended. So close to completion, after so many years!
- Saw The Last Airbender, the M. Night Shyamalan live action take on "Avatar: The Last Airbender." ... Disappointingly terrible rendition of such a great series... M. Night, you did it again. He purposely mispronounced the names!? What's worse, he's preparing for the sequels.
- Shopped! Bought an Express shirt and Gap khakis. AND a Cinnabon mmmmm.
- Made dinner with Mike! Steak with onions, roasted baby potatoes, artichoke and asparagus salad (recipe courtesy of Bloomberg), and homemade guacamole.
- Watched movies! Memoirs of a Geisha; Sunshine; Crouching Tiger, Hidden Dragon... chez Michel.
- Sunday, pool and sauna day. mmm I miss des piscines. Falling asleep poolside = glorious.
- ....Missed hanging out with Ellen, and playing Catan. :(
- Went to Alexia's 4th of July party! Oh wait except Alexia wasn't there.
- Watched fireworks atop Uni West roof, and lit them in the alley.
- Monday, went to lunch with Tony at Donna's. Mmm fried green tomato BLT.
- Met the Suzbot before her departure
- APO biznazz with Jess (and Steph)
- Final dinner chez Lara with Armand and Jayne and Matt and Tony. Wonderful peach basil sangria! Had never been to Homewood before... crazy
- Bolt bus back to NYC!
- Impromptu Janey time :). Sleep sacrificeeee
- Today, work. Woo!
- Saw In The Heights. Didn't really know beforehand it was Spanishy! Oh. Was good! Every song was a powerhouse...
- In bed here now!

Moving On, Moving Back!
So, tomorrow is Friday again! This weekend I'll be going back to Baltimore to see my friends there and get some business done for the Vocal Chords and APO. I'll also be seeing The Last Airbender movie, although I've recently heard it's complete crap :( which makes me very sad. A whopping 08% on Rotten Tomatoes. But I still have to see it nonetheless! Must remain loyal to the series... Hopefully it won't feel like pulling teeth. Thankfully this is a holiday weekend - woo for no work on Mondays! Hate Mondays. Like Garfield.
So, yesterday I had to make an explicit effort to not do something after work in order to get home at a reasonable hour and make sure my laundry gets done! Haha. My housing, EHS, has joined with a local launderer to offer FREE laundry services for any residents, so I took them up on that. I carried my laundry 3 blocks to Jade Cleaners where they washed and folded my laundry, packaged it in a very neat rectangular pattern that looks oh-so-asian (like square watermelons!), and delivered it back to my dorm the next day! It was like $22 of laundry for free, so, woo! Very helpful for a busy intern like me. I also made a point of going to bed early last night, and actually eating at home as opposed to the more expensive option of eating out each night (like I've been doing).
At work, I'm finally moving on to another project, and submitting my first project's code. I'm really excited, because I got to choose a project that (I hope) suits me better! I'm getting into work much more now, and the hours pass more quickly. I kind of feel like I've already graduated college and I'm ready to take a full-time position, or continue this one, for a while. Hah, but so much more I want to do in life! Like work for a philanthropic non-profit, ride the 4K for cancer?, and travel the world. Oh and skydive. And get my pilot's license. Ah, too much to do. :) Keeps life fun!
For my lunch break today I met Catiy from the Vocal Chords in the city, who is visiting her boyfriend for the week! It was so good to see her again. I took her to the delicious patisserie Financier, even though it was my second time for two days. We caught up and shared adult work stories... :). Best of luck to you, Caity!
After work I met Maria from EHS and Wolfgang at MoMA to eat and see a bit of their gallery. "Modern" art ends up being a very misleading term! They really should redefine it, since apparently many people think the "modern era" of art has already finished... Lol. Stlil, pretty impressive stuff there - just not what I expected!
And tonight we had drinks in honor of Maria's 21st birthday tomorrow :). I won't be here, so we made sure to party together tonight while we can! A lot of fun. Hopefully I can wake up tomorrow!...
